A question for @PhillipDaigle or other devs or modders/programmers

If you were stuck having to make BG3 or whatever the next game is called, using a craptastic set of rules like 4th ed or whatever 5th is..is it possible to:

Build into the game a way to "switch to classic mode" that the devs "accidentally" left in the shipped game that subsequently somehow leaked onto the internet? :-)

Build the game so its ass easy to mod to 2nd or 3rd ed rules? Is that called soft coding everything?

Work a deal with Hasbro/WoTC to have the game feature the new ruleset or option at start up to chose "classic mode" or something like that?

Are these type things possible? Because being forced to use the new rulesets would really suck.

5e (next, whatever) Is starting to look promising. But we dont know what the realms will be like, i absolutely hate post-spell plague faerun.

Personally, I think a 4E video game is long overdue, so I'm really hoping your dreams get completely shattered.
