first chapter, I cannot rest without being attacked

Hi there !
I played the game more than 10 years ago and it was such a great memory! I installed a lot of mods this time and that might be the problem, but I don't know how to fix this issue :
I am in the very beginning, in the irenicus dungeon, and I used up all the spells of my characters. I would like to rest but I am systematically being attacked by duergars, everywhere I try...
I think one of the mods has messed with the chance of being attacked while resting, but which one ? And how do I uninstall this feature ? Because without being able to rest the game becomes unplayable...
Thanks !

You can rest once safety (and you'll get an advice from Imoen). But you won't be able to rest safety anymore anywhere in Irenicus Dungeon.
There's an option "Make the starting dungeon slightly harder". You can remove it.
But you don't need to. The only thing you need to do is to use your spell wisely, and rest for the first and only time when you really need to.
Is this mod going to prevent resting in other areas as well ?
And the dungeon isn't that difficult and the combination of Minsc and Jaheira and Yoshimo, plus whatever Charname is should be perfectly fine to get through the the first dungeon with only one rest. Just don't waste high level spells on kobolds and imps. Or disable that SCS feature.
I respect your desire to play the game your way. Just saying that with SCS loaded, you are going to continue to have problems on this order unless you start being more strategic (hence the name) in your approaches.
I do have to say that DMs are equally to blame. Once a group shows a penchant for resting after every single battle (and who can blame them, armor is HEAVY and swinging that sword is tough work), a DM will more often than not up the ante as far as the monsters are concerned. If the group will blow all of their spells and hit points on one encounter, why not make the encounters tougher? It becomes a vicious circle. The more the players do it (bad, ok, but not the sole blame), the more the DMs do it (two wrongs don't make a right).
Just my soap box for the day.
