ToB New NPCs quest requirements

Hi, I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam elsewhere but I was wondering if you need to complete the new NPCs' BG2:EE quest components for you to get their ToB quests. I've completed an Evil playthrough that had Hexxat and Dorn in my party and have done all of their quests in both ToB and BG2EE and I have a BG2 good party that's completed all of Neera's and Rasaad's BG2 quest components but just can't bring myself to play through another 20+ hrs to get them to ToB. So I was thinking of loading one of my Evil party's save games and recruiting Neera and Rasaad just to see their new ToB content. Would that work?
