Where to start learning about new externalisations?

Is there some documentation, or examples to learn from? Is there even a complete list of what is externalised in patch 1.2? And in the brewing patch 1.3?

One specific question: how would one go about mimicking the "EasyTutu Spawn Randomizer"? If that is at all possible with BG:EE.
