Question about The Brick +2

I think that the Brick is a pretty cool weapon (and as a Canadian, "nobody beats the Brick" gave me a good chuckle).
I don't quite understand how the "Aura of Wild Magic" works, though. Does it affect mage spells and cleric spells? Does this effect apply to the wielder as well?

    I know if you use EEkeeper to create a wild mage/cleric the cleric spells will also get hit by wild surges, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with The Brick.

    You know I read the "nobody beats the brick" line and I didn't even make that connection (despite being Canadian as well).
