I'm sure this suggestion has been up and around once or twice? If not I thought I would suggest it, simple (not too large) chatboxes for when chatting (like in comic books). Chat often gets lost in the npc dialog and I feel it would give a better impression of the chars actually talking when chatting.

Very useful if not using voice chat in the background. Or what say you?
