So since I have crippling crs, I decided to make a character via the generator thread. I rolled human beastmaster. I just... Yeah. So, I promised myself to beat BG2EE with whatever I got (have never made it far in at all). So, any tips, advice, etc. on playing a beastmaster effectively? On iPad, so mods are a no-go. Thanks to any and all replies!

I'd probably have (at the start of BG2EE)
** Clubs ** Shortbow ** Quarterstaff ** Two-Weapon Style.
In those cases that enemies need greater than a +3 weapon to hit them then you can always use a staff (its a pain to switch to the staff or to your bow but it makes more sense to dual wield imo).
I'd probably also go chaotic good. I just prefer that familiar to the lawful/neutral good one (namely for its invisibility 10' radius). Getting a familiar and then talking to it (so that it goes into your bag) is a good idea because it means a raise to your HP (without any risks).
Keep in mind you can use certain dragon armors (shadow dragon scale and white dragon scale). So the armor penalty will eventually not be as bad as it sounds.
Animal Summoning I and Animal Summoning II aren't very good spells but to be honest apart from Armor of Faith there really isn't much at these levels that you can take that is significant. Animal Summoning III is better but you are going to want to hope for either a cave bear or a polar bear with it (frankly they are better than the winter wolf and lion). I would keep copies of these spells with the expectation that these are going to be fodder summons (the kind of summons you cast hoping to get the enemy to waste useful spells on them).
Otherwise you can play the character out pretty much as you would any fighter. Just one that has a higher amount of AC than usual. Also keep in mind that beast masters get a bonus to stealth so you can also act as your parties scout.
The only downside is the armor and lack of weapon choices (clubs, staves, slings).
The items you are going to need for building the ultimate character? Helm and cloak of Balduran (or any other endgame, cespenar crafted helm), amulet of power or of the seldarine, gauntlets of extraordinary specialization, staff +6 (made from cespenar), sling +5 (made from cespenar), ring of Gax (from Kangaxx the demilich), your cleric gifted ring of Lathander, boots of speed, belt of inertial barrier, and white dragon scales. Those, in ToB. In SoA: Helm and cloak of Balduran, amulet of power, gauntlets of weapon expertise, staff +4 (from stonemarket), sling +5 (from special vendor), ring of holiness and another one you might like, boots of speed (i keep them from 1 with pause black screen trick), golden girdle and a good leather armor that i use to come across.
Remember to be chaotic good for the fairy dragon familiar (it can mass invisibility your entire party). With this character you simply cannot go wrong. And a final tip. If you wear the helm of opposite alignment, and level up at high level, you can choose an evil deva summon HLA, which you can use, even if you revert to your original, good alignment! Just because you can!
Am I missing something?
