Lag on phablet

I've been playing BG:EH on my tablet (asus transformer TF300) without any problems. I just got a new samsung tab 4 6.0 (specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_4_7_0-6251.php). The game opens fine and I was even able to import my saves from the transformer though the games are lagging, even outside of combat (general exploration for instance). The transformer has lower specs than the new phablet so its not a specs issue. can anyone help? if it makes any difference, the graphics options under BG settings is greyed out (on both devices)
