New to BG2 - is this party alright?

Hi guys
I've started BG2 EE and it's real fun, I decided on making a full party myself to play the game. What I was really after was advice/feedback from people who have finished the game on my party, I've used the forums for advice on builds.

Main char, human paladin inquisitor, 2 handed for the paladin sword, also halberd/axe
Dwarf berserker fighter, axe and hammer specialised, using 1 handler and shield as main tank to soak damage.
Human cleric with mace/flail , decided not to dual class as wanted lots if spells.
Elf fighter Mage, duel wielding long swords, scimitar, katana
Gnome fighter/thief mainly short bow with daggers and short swords for close work
Human Mage , single class to get as many spells

How does this mix sound? I've read about some of the powerful weapons, like flail of ages, cromsyer, I'm just not sure if my team is good enough or built right

That inquisitor is nice, but there exists a more than competent one, npc, with this class, plus his own unique specific full plate. You might consider creating something else?? Just a suggestion though, don't beat it... Also, sarevok comes with halberd proficiency, so why wouldn't you keep that point for longswords, instead? To utilize balduran's from special vendor, and couple it for the "easier fight against beholders", that is...

The dwarf berserker rocks. Lots of fun, this one.

Hmmm, since you want that cleric to be human, why don't you create that awesome, unstoppable, dual berserker/cleric? Or you can try the Dwarf multi fighter/cleric, which is one of the most useful, clever and powerful multis around, since vanilla and originals...

Elf mage alone seems good enough. Not only elves make poor(er) warriors, due to constitution penalty, but should you multiclass, they won't reach mage level 28, at which you gain maximum spell slots (allowing you to cast more spells). Also, should you consider it, elves make wonderful thief/mages instead...

Nope. HALFLING fighter thief is where the fun is at. Halflings make the best thieves around, even if their paper doll, whenever mixing "fighter" class in the picture, looks like shite. Their thieving bonuses are larger. And they are skilled with a sling. Consider those buddies...

Human mage? Why don't you do that awesome, infamous, deadly, human figher (or kit) dual to mage? This is by far more effective than your average, fighter/mage multiclass. They become broken, overpowered, a real gem!! Berserker or Kensai to mage, especially when you dual at 9 level (or even better yet, 13...), is where all the badassness and kinkyness is at!

My fighter (9) Cleric wrecks through everything, when buffed. With his 22 wisdom I think it is, he is not lacking any spells, actually have a lot more than I need:) GM in flails and mace dw Foa and Storm Star he owns everything when he's buffed, even korgan with Crom Faeyr and A +5 axe which name I forgot with GWW can touch him.

Party looks great! I have an elf fighter/mage as well who duals katanas! I roleplay him as homosexual. His 'partner' is my Human Paladin (Axe/Mace Proficiency) who keeps their relationship a secret as he is ashamed of his urges and deems them weak. Because of this, Danagrin (the elf mage) will frequently get upset and sleeps around with various NPCs i pick up. He had a DISGUSTING three way with Korgen and Dorn that got pretty wild. I would also recommend you change the Human mage to a fighter/kit dual spec, they get really powerful.

Elves make poor warriors? Elves are in the fact the best fighters, compared to dwarves they have 2 higher AC, while having a laughable 18 hp difference at level 9 and higher (the difference wont change, +con is not added to Hp after level 9) In all D20 games, dexterity/AC is more important than the number of HP, including BG 1 and 2.
