Highlighted doors, chests, etc?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
When I first started a new game on android, all doors, cheats, barrels, etc were outlined as soon as they were out of the fog. Then I rolled a new character, and they were all gone, they look just like the background now. I tried recreating the first character to see if it was an ability I was unaware of, no luck. What's up?

    If you are playing on Windows or MacOS, your "tab" key could have been stuck. (Happens to me *all* the time)

    Is there like a help button you can press that toggles between it being on and off. Looks like a question mark. I've never played the mobile version but I recall something like that.

    The icon on the right sidebar with a magnifying glass--tap that and the object highlights will appear.
