Quick loot?

Was the quick loot feature not supposed to be implemented in this patch in bgee? Think I read that somewhere....

Should be a little red diamond on the main combat/game screen close to where talk and weapon icons are displayed.
  • Its the most un-user friendly button ever. It took me 1 hour searching.
  • ehhh... Better look again then
  • Can't see it :[image
  • Have you patched?
  • yes

When you go into the main menu what version does it say you are running?
  • 1.2.0 It's 1.3 now right?
But I let the beamdog client patch the game and no patch is available now?
  • I'm going to reinstall the game, hope that fixes the issue

There shouldn't be any need to reinstall the game. Log out from your account and log back in (don't just close the client actually log out and log back in). That should hopefully show a patch available.
  • damn xD Ah well should not take to long

After I patched, I had to do a dance with the executables. If you execute from your steam account via the UI, you should be given an option to launch 'Baldur's Gate' or 'Baldur's Gate 1.3' or words to that effect. If you DON'T get that option, you can go in and delete your Steam Executable folder (follow the instructions on the web site) and it should re-create it for you. Quite why they chose to make it a different executable is beyond me, but there you have it. There may have been a programming reason.

As for it's relative usefulness, that can be debatable. It certainly makes it easier to pick up gold as it just automatically disappears and adds to your money. With everything else, whoever the top character selected is still walks towards whatever the item is to collect it (leaving all of the inherent pathing and blocking issues that we've seen before). And if you move out of range of an item, it drops from the bar.

I appreciate the effort, but I think that a little more beta testing on this might have yielded something more useful. Maybe 1.4?

In any event, so as not to look a gift horse in the mouth, 'Thanks for the button'. it works OK.

Don't feel bad - I made this same mistake when 1.2 came out. I didn't know that the Beamdog client kept running in the background after I closed it, and had to be restarted to download updates.

I posted in the forums, and got a quick response that I needed to find it and completely log out of it. I wound up finding it at the bottom right of my Windows 7 desktop under "Show Hidden Icons", and clicking "End Program", then restarting it. Voila, there was the patch ready to be installed.

Can the quick loot button be quick keyed?

EDIT: Nope. Should be able to assign a key for it to toggle the feature.

I suggest to all of you that use the BD client to run and update the game to uncheck the "run in background" option, so when you'll close the client you also log off.
This should assure that everytime you start the client you'll see the proper updates. :)
  • Now I have the patch :) Just to make sure bg2ee is up to date what patch is the most recent?image
