Hard Times (or similar mods) for BGEE?

It's really started to bother me how easy it is to get really good items in BGEE with little to no effort or gold spent in getting it. I am of course referring to BG1 items such as the Evermemory outside the Friendly Arm Inn, but also BGEE additions such as the Stupefier. (Shouldn't this have been sold at the Thunderhammer Smithy for a high price or something instead!?)

There was a mod for the original BG1 called Hard Times which seemed to address issues like this, but to my knowledge there's yet to be a BGEE release of the mod. Are there any similar mods available for BGEE?
