NPC to NPC Funny Romance (Spoilers)

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
For my monk run I chose to romance Jaheira over Neera. It's been quite amusing to watch Anomen run cheesy pickup and flirting lines by Neera, and even more amusing to listen to her reactions and rebuffing him. However, things took an interesting twist and she finally just gave in. The timing of his usual line about the group was pretty funny in light of it...

    Amusing factor aside, anyone else feel this is an unfair representation of Anomen's character? I never take him with Neera just for these interactions alone (I don't think he hits on any other female party member). He's one of my favorite NPCs, and I feel for him every time he's made out to be the butt monkey of the game.

    A bit yeah, I actually really like Anomen and tend to bring him along even if I'm not planning to romance him. I honestly don't understand a lot of the hate for his character, I mean I was annoyed he was the only option for female romance way back when but I never hated him...

    @booinyoureyes Hope I didn't ruin it. Got her to the point where she told him she'd come to him at night while nobody was watching and subsequently dropped both out of the party temporarily to let others join real quick.

    I have them both in the party now, so if it did break that chain of events maybe they will get there again. I'm only just after Spellhold, so there's a fair amount of game left I believe (this is where I stopped last game to start over as a monk, so entering unchartered territory for me).
