Very general Android question

I have recently been exploring Android programming as the next thing to fill my head with, and everything that I could find states that people generally use the Eclipse ADT program or they use a android tools command prompt system. I am curious if Beamdog is using either of these to build bgee onto, or if they are using a third unknown android method.

Would @Dee or someone more intimately involved with the company be able to enlighten me? :)
