"Copy Note" now in journal, can I ditch the scroll and i will still have the "Note" for the quest?

"Copy Note" now in journal, can I ditch the scroll and i will still have the "Note" for the quest?

Curious because if so i can ditch the scroll and free up an item slot in my inventory without messing up the quest its attached to :-)

No. Some quests require you to have the scroll in your Inventory so it won't work well for all cases (but it'll work for most, exceptions are Mulahey's scroll and Mirianne's letter, there might be more but I don't recall them now).

pretty sure you don't need the actual notes, they are just a way to unveil the storyline to you. For some reason i can't understand, I ALWAYS keep them, usually putting them in a drawer wherever I am keeping my extra stuff / base of operations, usually in beregost or nashkel.

Edit: actually which note are you referring to? I think you need the invitation in baldur's gate, but that is the only one.

Put it in the Scroll case (Beregost http://baldursgate.wikia.com/wiki/Firebead's_Book )

@SirBaldur‌ yeah, that one too. And yes, you DO need them in the inventory.

oh right.... I forgot about mirianne's letter. Really, mulahey? I never knew - i must have carried it just long enough for it to kick off what it needs to.

You don't need any of them beyond a certain quest fulfillment point. Mirianne's Letter, Mulahey's Letters of Instruction, I think that there may be one or two later from the Iron Throne building that you need to show to Duke Eltan.

When no longer useful, anything labeled "Scroll" you can eventually sell to Bentley at the FAI; I think he rescrapes the vellum or something. You may be able to sell old "scrolls" to Thalantyr and Feldepost's as well. They sell for 1-3 GP, and I haven't ever figured out what makes the price difference, whether it is just location, or depreciation, etc.

Anything labeled "Note" or "Letter" you might as well stick in a trash barrel somewhere once you have the info and any related information or proof task is done. No one ever seems to buy those for recycling, and eventually you WILL have enough to take up valuable space in the scroll case. Dump them.

Near the end of the game there are some note scrolls and one notebook you should find and keep to foil the big bad's schemes. The item description explicitly says this, though. 'This proves the big bad's eeevil plan. You should probably keep this to show to the authorities.'
