Xzar and Monty's Timer

I'm curious what the exact length of Xzar and Monty's timer is? How much time do you have exactly to get their sorry arses to Nashkel? Also, if you have a high enough Reaction Adjustment and choose the "I first would like to go to the Inn" dialogue option upon meeting them and they agree, does that buy you any time, or is it just flavor? Finally, I assume there are ample ways to cheat the timer. The most obvious is to not talk to them right away, but say you want to. Can you play with them awhile, ditch them in an Inn, and then pick them up just before you head to Nashkel - Or will that not work so smoothly?

i think its 10 days, not sure, it has been awhile since i have failed for their timer ( like 15 years ago) usually when i get them on my time, i just run on down to nashkiel right away ( well i go to the friendly arm inn first, then go through beregost then down to nashkiel) if you have ee keeper you might be able to affect their timer using that just making their value longer mayhaps?

I also believe it is 10 days. But dropping them will not really stop the timer once it starts; they won't run away while they are standing around, but quite soon after you pick them up again, they will say they have to get on - and go.

You MIGHT be able to beat this even if the ten days are up, if access to Nashkel through the intervening areas is already unlocked. Re-recruit them and then IMMEDIATELY click on Nashkel on the Travel Map. Go directly to the front of the Temple and talk to Barrun Ghastkill. It just might work, as there seems to be just a little random variation in exactly when they choose to complain/depart. If you hit a random encounter/fight along the way, though, and the timer is expired, they will probably depart at the end of the fight - along with any of your gear they may be carrying.

Certainly, when they FIRST complain that it is taking too long, you should still have time to get down to Nashkel from anywhere that you could have taken the party among the handful of unlocked areas, if you go directly.
