Tab key and hovering names

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
While playing BG1:EE, I could hold tab to cause NPCs to have their names displayed above their heads. I found this very convenient.

This does not appear to work in BG2:EE.

Is this enabled by a setting somewhere, or is it simply not available in BG2:EE?

    It might be included in the 1.3 patch for BG2 coming before the end of the year. I seem to recall it being a 'newish' feature.

    I hope it also lets you open the menu by pressing esc like in 1EE. Damn you muscle memory!
