Druid bug?

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Ok, so I have an Avenger with a club equipped.
I cast shillelagh and got to smacking some skeletons. All is good in the world.
However now the spell has expired and my avenger is blissfully whacking away with his fist.
I cannot select the club from the quick key.
And if i unequip the club, I can not re-equip any weapons. it says "Magical weapon in use”.
I have tried resting to ensure the spell duration is expired.

Thoughts?

    In case someone else runs into this. Casting Shillelagh again seams to have corrected this once that spell expired. Hopefully it was a one time glitch.
