You can't multiclass the new kits can you?

Say I want to be a Wild Mage/Kensai. Can I do that?

If not, can I be a Human Kensai and dual to Wild Mage later?

If so, wouldn't this make Humans pretty awesome? The new kits look very, very strong.

I never played BG/BGII, I did play IWD a lot and IWDII about twice as much. Mostly in HOF mode.

Thanks :)

    No. You can't multi kits and you can't dual into a kit. You can't dual into a wild Mage either. You can be a kensai->Mage though.

    @meagloth‌ is correct - you can only dual-class OUT of a kit, but not INTO a kit, and you cannot use kits AT ALL in a multi-class combination (EXCEPTION: Gnomes that are Fighter/Mage are automatically Fighter/Illusionist). Note that Wild Mage is a kit of the mage class, not a class of its own (unlike Sorcerer, who is), and as such cannot be multiclassed and cannot be dualed into.

    So:

    Kensai -> Mage (OK!)
    Wild Mage -> Fighter (OK!)
    Fighter -> Wildmage (NO!)
    Kensai -> Wild Mage (NO!)

    Thanks :)

    This is nice, but I think I'll wait on IWD2 EE. 2e just burns my guts >.<

    There will be no IWD:2EE. It's been officially confirmed.

    Err, when was it ever confirmed that there won't be an IWD2:EE? Last time I checked, they were looking into it, as well as looking into doing PST:EE.

    I wouldn't mind knowing either way.

    A clarification: Wild mages cannot be dual-classed either way. This has been true since they were introduced in Throne of Bhaal.

    No, it hasn't.

    So no monk/clerics either... >.< I guess I need an arcane tank to get the high AC for HOF mode.

    Monks don't get WIS bonus to AC in 2e do they?

    Fun fact, only humans can be monks.

    okay...
