I've never played this game, so I got to ask...

... Is it possible to effectively run an all-monk party? Has anyone tried? Because you know... everyone would be kung-fu fighting... and those kids are apparently fast as lightning.

    I suppose anything is possible. Doubly so in 'Story Mode.' You won't be lacking in variety since there's three types of monks. And Kensai from fighter kit would probably fit well too.

    But you'll likely be hurting without some additional healing. Maybe you could have a few of your monks Dual class to other things after a few levels. They should already have the wisdom for a cleric at least.

    But not sure if there's any limitations on monks dualing to other things or not.

    Monks can dual class in this game? okay that's pretty neat, though I can't imagine why they'd do that since they would lose out on growing their fist levels higher... unless it works differently in this game?

    I only know about multi-classing monks in 3E when it comes down to it.

    Monks cannot dual in IWD :(

    I ran a trio of Monks (one of each) through BG1&2 and it was doable.

    You should take a thief (ninja) and a healer. I would pick the assassin kit for your thief; your healer could duel class from kensai to cleric at level 3. Use a staff.

    Well IWD:EE only just came out so no-one has actually been through IWD with a Monk unless they were using that IWD-in-BG2 conversion mod. I'm sure it's possible but pretty much anything is possible if you have endless patience. It's more about if you'd want to. At least now that monk has some kits you can mix it up a bit.

    I suggest you take a more normal party for the first time because the combat can be demanding. There are hordes and hordes of enemies and the first time I played I remember thinking "are they serious???".

    Some of us did Beta test IWD:EE for a month, and many of us have taken a Monk through; so there is a bit of corporate knowledge upon which to draw.

    I suspect the all Monk party would be doable, although I must say I really like @Fardragon 's suggestion!
