My party/advice please

Alright, so I'm pretty new to the baldurs gate series, and being able to create an entire party is a little daunting to me. If you guys could critique my current setup and let me know if it's good enough to get through HoW, I'd greatly appreciate it. Currently, my party is setup like this:

Elf Archer

Gnome Fighter/Illusionist(I remember these guys were pretty much unstoppable, but I've been hearing that its a challenge having mages in this game.)

Dwarf Cleric/Fighter

Human Sun Soul Monk(I loved this kit in the last game, I'll understand if its no good in IWD though)

Half Orc Fighter/Thief

Human Bard

I've got good rolls on all of them, but the proficiencies are really what I'm unsure about and whether or not this is a good setup for a future HoW run. Any advice you guys could give me would be awesome.

    I'll be interested to hear if monks are viable! Overall, you get points for going outside the box with your party. I can't critique it though because I've never been through HOW
