Pre-generated party?

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Just starting the game and as I'm lazy just how viable are pre-generated characters? Are they good enough to beat the game with or am I better off with another setup?

    Depends on the difficulty setting. On the lower ones I'm sure the party can stomp it all, but the higher you go the more difficult it will become.

    IWD isn't really for the lazy...

    IWD 2 came with several pre-made parties, all with a unique theme. They were fun to use if only because you had to adapt your strategies to fit the party you chose.
