Incoherence about difficulty level

Hi everyone,

I find some incoherence in the difficulty level. I start my game with ''Insane''....X2 Xp for each kill

1) The progression of the spellbook of a mage can't follow his own progression, I was facing Yxunomei with 3 free slot of spell level 4 and 2 free slot for level 5.....making the sorcerer more convenient for this game. For the next patch, it would be interesting to enhanced the spell shop of Orrick (proposition)

2) ''Heart of Fury'' is a little bit more harder to kill the monster than with ''Insane''

''HoF'' in IWD2 was way more challenging!!! Im going into Dorn and seriously, the Severed Hand wasn't challenging at all.

My point isn't to show to everyone how effective is my party (not at all) but to report a lack of challenge in the IWD EE for the veteran of ths game....Is there any mod that can reload the challenge??

    I would expect that difficulty-enhancing mods will be coming in the future. Maybe something akin to SCS?

    I find HoF reasonably challenging, but a bit tedious. Just putting huge HP on everything seems a bit of a lazy solution to me.

    It's no surprise though that the out-of-the-box version of the game isn't too much of a challenge for experienced players. That was the same with BG1/2, in fact those were a LOT easier than IWD. The only reason those are remotely challenging now is thanks to mods, and since IWD has full mod support and is quite popular, I'm fully expecting the modders out there to come up with something ;)
