Icewind Dale original had spontaneous casting where any memorized cleric spell could be shift clicked on and would cast the same level healing spell didn't it? Does Icewind Dale EE?

maybe it was only an IWD2 thing.

    Spontaneous Casting
    ------------------
Clerics can convert their currently memorized spells into healing spells (if good) or inflict spells (if evil)
when the player shift-L-clicks on a spell at the time of casting.
    p.57 iwd2 manual

Yeah, it was an IWD2 thing. IWD1 never had it.

Which is one of the reasons vanilla Bards are so good to have in this game. Constant group regen means your clerics can memorize some of the fun stuff besides healing.

The last song they get allows your party to heal 2 HPs per round, plus a few other bonuses, similar to what the Skald does. Which isn't really that big of deal, the other perks are far more important. But you have to go through a few dud songs before you get to that one. Personally I think the Skald is the best option, even though it's songs don't regenerate. Their combat bonuses are far better in the end.
