Shapeshifter - Overpowered for the Vanilla Game?

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Only played up to Kuldahar so far. My Shapeshifter is now level 3. When shifting, nothing stands in his way. Ogre in the caves went down in mere seconds. So did the yetis in Kuldahar. Kind of makes the early game a bit too easy. Anyone try a Shifter yet ? Thoughts or comments? How are they later in the vanilla game?

    Werewolf form starts getting hit more often around Dragon's Eye level 4. At that point though you can get Iron Skins, so its not as big of a deal (and eventually you'll get the greater werewolf form which is much better when it comes to defence).

    I did yesterday. My party was slightly losing the battle with the orcs in the first large room. So I shrugged and had my druid turned into a werewolf and she very quickly ate four of the orcs turning the tide of the battle. IWD just makes druid so much better.

    I don't know if any changes have been made. Werewolf form was always good early on. It just doesn't scale well with level.
