    You still hear them - but you have to want to hear them by clicking on the character repeatedly. This is the intended behavior.

    Sounds like a couple of you are as annoyed by the rare selection sounds as I was. For a temporary workaround, until the patch hits, you can just delete the sound files of the rare responses (preferably after moving them to a backup folder). That way you won't have to hear them (though they will be displayed as text in your text/combat window). For anyone interested, I explained how to do it in detail here:
