OSX 10.9.5 - Characters have massive HP jump upon rejoining party

I've been trying to boost the XP of a single character by kicking other characters out for a while. I am playing in heart of fury mode. When I've re-added the 2 characters (a shapeshifter and a fighter/thief), their HP's have increased dramatically (currently around level 8 - one at ~350hp, other at ~450, after perhaps 3 re-joins). Help appreciated.

    I may be wrong, but it could be an issue of HoF.
    Try to disable HoF before rejoining them.

    That might work for the future, but is there a way now to reduce their HP to the previous levels?
