Getting Imoen's thief back before Durlag's tower

melbogiamelbogia Member Posts: 2
So I have been working towards dual-classing Imoen when she hits level 6 and she is about to. I am in chapter 4 and about to enter Cloakwood forest, and I have pretty much explored all the areas south of Baregost except Durlag's tower. Now I feel like by the time I get to Durlag's tower I will not have Imoen's mage level to 7 to get her thief abilities back, and I don't want to go there without a thief. I don't want to ditch her or another member of the party for another thief either. My question is, is it possible for her mage to be level 7 before I have nothing left but Durlag's tower?

Btw, I just started playing this game a month ago, and never played the original. This is my first post so, hi everyone.

    Hello.

If you plan on dual classing her at level 6 then I wouldn't worry about it. There is more than enough experience for you to hit level 7 as a mage before you hit Durlag's tower. Keep in mind the original (pre-Tales of the Sword Coast) game had an 89,000xp cap so you can certainly hit 80,000+ by the time you want to explore the tower. There are a lot of quests in Baldur's Gate (the city) in particular for you to gain additional experience.

In the meantime there are a number of areas east and west of Beregost (south of Candlekeep or north of Gullykin) that you may want to explore as well (if you haven't already).

So long as you're not missing too many quests and areas, I'd say she's highly likely to hit 7th level mage before Durlag's.

Ideally you want a thief for chapter 6 too, but you can explore most of the city before then and get more xp.
