How do I map TAB to mouse button #4?

Or additional mouse buttons like 5 and middle scrollwheel? Did some searching but couldn't find anything specific.

I can't remember if I was able to do this in BG & BGIIEE?

I don't know about BG / BG2:EE functionality, but you can set this up via an AutoHotkey script. For example: http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm
