Bard songs (no, not those)

shawneshawne Member Posts: 3,239
Here's a question for all you RPG-lovers out there: how many games have bards who actually sing? I can think of four off the top of my head:

Audren (Darkstone)

Shymone and Scarbunkle (Storm of Zehir)

Leliana (Dragon Age: Origins)

And, of course, Lisette Malukah (Skyrim).

Any others?

    Haer'Dhalis only whistles, I guess that happens when your kit cripples your class's one unique feature.

    @Talvrae ROFL

    My first impression is that it's a more epic & badass Dust in the Wind.

    Also I know MY morale would be boosted listening to that in battle!

    @shawne

    He sings in some of his reactions, like when running away.

    I actually think that Eldoth is the one that never sings.

    I'm possibly splitting hairs here; Carcophonix. (Assurancetourix, or so I'm told.. the bard from Asterix)

    On a more serious note, a documentary about lute addiction amongst young minstrels in the UK. We can have our fun, but let's not forget the terrible human cost of madrigals and codpiece fungus.

    Do bards actually HAVE to be singers to be bards? Or are you just wondering if any of them sing in general?

    Well, there is a bard singing in the game Stronghold about a rat. Here is a youtube link to the song from the game.

    Oh yes and we can't forget Sims Medieval where a bard CAN sing. There should also be some youtube clips of that somewhere.

    @Duron I totally do not remember that song, but I did enjoy that game.

    To be honest I don't remember the song either. A friend of mine told me about it so I youtubed Stronghold rat song and got that. But I do remember that bards can sing in Sims medieval.

    The latter, specifically in relation to RPG games: I'm curious about bards or bardlike characters who actually have vocal tracks within the game (ie: the various singers in Skyrim's taverns).

    There's always Zaxis in the Temple of Elemental Evil. He sings all of his lines.

    @Shawne Not wishing to be a massive troll, but that should be an e.g. (for example), not an i.e. (that is).
  • shawneshawne Member Posts: 3,239
    @Moomintroll: Thanks. Old habit. :)

    @WonKo: Does Zaxis have an actual song, though? Or is it more like Garrick where you click on him and he sings a line?

    Mordin performs Gilbert and Sullivan quite well, but I think he is a multiclass.

    He also can sing Scientist salarian in ME 3 (the moment when I cried my eyes off tbh and actually finished the song SPOILER ALERT to players that plan to and haven't passed ME 3 though):

    That second video has a spoilerriffic title.

    Oh yes, Mordin broke my heart in ME3... :)
  • WonKoWonKo Member Posts: 72
    @shawne I believe that its only lines sung as opposed to an actual song. He was a bit too irritating to keep around.

    @WonKo actually Mordin really grew on me and had a lot of overall character growth throughout ME2 and ME3. I actually felt he had some of the most character growth overall.

    This thread is now about Mordin, I'm pretty happy about that.

    I really liked his input on the genophage, and how it evolved through the series, the whole ordeal really benefited from Mordin's character
