Sansuki bug - does it matter?

It seems there is a bug that has remained after the patch.

I met someone called Sansuki in the docks region.

He said "they have found me!" and then nothing happens.

I've googled this and it is a known bug but I couldn't see anyone say how important the bug is.

    He's probably a shadow thief that is either about to be killed by/charmed/fight vampires. I've noticed that the vampires seem to be spawning far off from where the encounters are taking place, which makes a big delay with them.

    He will be attacked by three vampires, but it takes some time for them to spawn and reach the party. You can choose to fight the vampires to save his life, but it will be a tough fight especially if you are not licensed and can't cast magic spells out in the open.

    It is a part of the many encounters of shadow thieves-vampires happening at night in the city, and it has no real importance whether he lives or dies.

    The Shadow Thieves drop great spell scrolls so just let them die, and you only need to kill the vamps on the 3rd encounter, when they attack you after killing the thieves. They're just criminals anyway.
