Drinks in taverns

I know it's not of much consequence, but is the variety of drinks you can choose in taverns reduced in Baldurs Gate 2 Enhanced? I seem to remember my younger self scrolling through the list of drinks in order to pick one that suited each character before my party rested, and it seems that there are only a few options in the enhanced game.

My memory is fuzzy so correct me if I'm wrong

It depends on the establishment. Some luxurious places have many more types of drinks available, while modest establishments cater a small amount. If you can fiind your way in to an exorbitant drow establishment in Underdark, and live to tell the tale, you can find the most exotic and never before seen types of drinks there, as well.

I love the taverns in the games! I always wanted to see more different kinds though, but I'm guessing you'll only find the alcohol suited to the area you explore.

30 gp even for a pint of Evermead is ridiculously overpriced though. You could buy a boat with that amount of cash!

You should try Elminster's beer. Word is its like the old "Elminster's Choice" brand, but with more flavour!

Incidentally, the game developers missed major quest potential here. Drinking in taverns never leads to anything.

If I had planned the game, I would absolutely have made a quest start in a tavern, *randomly*. So, you might go through a whole game without ever getting it, or you might get it pretty early on.

You know, after a few beers, someone approaches you at the bar, mentions that you look like the kind of guy who's up for a challenge and proceeds to tell you that his brother has had these weird dreams that have been worrying the whole family. Is he cursed? The only thing we have outside the dreams themselves is this positively strange-looking piece of parchment we found in his room, care to take a look?
