Multiplayer crashing when loading new map after messing with console

We are running a multiplayer server over beamdog and have been playing without any problems for some time, until i messed with the console by inputting a command that would cure my party from Lothanders poison.
Ever since this, my buddy's game crashes whenever we transition to a new area. I am still in game and can save, then he can rejoin, but we can't really play like that.
I tried copying the save games into a fresh installation but the problem persisted, does this suggest there is a problem with my saves?
Any help would be much appreciated as we really don't want to have to restart! Thanks
