Biography customization / editing

I know this may seem like a bit of a nuance, but I liked how in Icewind Dale (I don't remember if you could in BG2) you could edit and write your characters biography in their information tab. From what I remember you were unable to do this in BG1. Is this feature going to be included? I think it's a neat little roleplaying tid bit to add.
