Cheesiest of the KenSages

Out of curiosity, I just tried importing my end-of-Black Pits Kensai into the start of BG, and naturally we start the original game with level cap 161k xp. As this PC was always planned as my first censure, I wondered what would happen if I dualled now? As it turns out, I have a 0xp mage with 250k xp in the old class, interesting. I quickly try Fuller's quest to confirm - I am stuck at 0xp and cannot advance this game. Which actually might lead to an interesting play through.

At first, I am OP with way too many hit points to ever really be in danger. Every NPC I recruit will be at 6th level, so we will sail through the early game, all the time becoming increasingly worried that my Bhaalspawns bizarre affliction that they simply cannot learn anything as a mage. Have I doomed my PC to eternal ineptitude, lost to memories of some strange adventure, hounded by a dark elf (that will be an interesting re-encounter!) that seem like a lifetime ago... All growth limited to the 6 bhaalpowers that will ultimately be awarded...

Cut forward to importing into BG2. If I understand correctly, the game still tracks the XP that has not been awarded. Suddenly, the PC springs to life in Chateau Irenicus, the powers truly unlocked by that psychopathic wizard. Suddenly, the story is ripe with possibilities... (and if I do the math correctly, there is a good chance we could even unlock the Kensai abilities, pay-off for having the whole of BG1 as the worst kind of downtime!)

Not committed yet, but this may be my holiday play through.

I did try importing directly into BG2, back when I had first beaten the pits, but dropping from 126hp to 40hp did not seem like such a great career move. Really looking forward to getting that patch! This should be my final act of waiting :)

A first level wizard with high HP is fine for BG1... Use Evermemory, get some wands/Necklace of Missiles and go to town. A viable solo even I think, and not needing XP means you will likely just bypass a great many encounters, as you won't need their drops and can't get XP.
