Charm Person'ed Monster Kill Yields No Experience...Bug or Intended?

Hey guys, I just started a solo Sorceror run on HoF difficulty, and am level 5 after finishing the non-combat quests in town. I need to use Charm Person to kill the goblins south of town, and it is quite effective, aside from the fact that any monster killed while charmed yields no experience.

This is pretty devastating as I need every point of xp on a solo sorc run before I get summons. Are charmed monsters supposed to give zero experience on death?

Just to clarify, I charm the monster and invis out and let his friends kill him. So I am no the one dealing the final blow, but the monster dies nevertheless.

    You need to deal the final blow in order to get the XP.
