No casting glows on Ipad2 after the patch

Okay despite my better judgement I got the 1.3 patch for bg2:ee on my Ipad2. Problem is, now there are no casting animations-colorful circles while my character casts a spell. Tried with a lot of spells. Spell casting sounds are there, but there are no glows and sparks. Spells work allright otherwise.
FYI, I have edited casting animations in the past, but there are no cg- files in my portraits folder as of now=so animation files (cgabjura, cgnecrom, etc) are all vanilla and still they fail to show up graphically. This is a major issue for me.
Anyone experiencing the same? Any quick fix? Or if there is no other fix, can I revert back to 1.2 if it is possible, and how? I would hate to play like this.

I have scs installed, its edited area/creature files and scripts, some gui enchantment files, bam files from enhanced item bams mod, and a few edited spell files and spell icon bams. Nothing for the casting glows or animations. (no cgaltera, cgabjura, etc. files) I have no idea why my mod set up suddenly turns all casting glows invisible. What can cause this indirectly?

Edit:I have found the culprit. The edited projectile.ids file somehow prevents all casting glows from displaying. I removed the file and it works. Everything works. But if scs needed that file to function properly, I dunno. Hmm weird. This file was there in my previous installation and was no problem with the 1.2
