Can't save

in BGII:EE Bugs (v1.3.2064)
I just bought the game, and went through the trouble of getting it to run (purchased on steam).
I started a new game made my character and after I leave the cell I lose the ability to save and the auto save is gone? Help I loved this game when I was younger was really hoping to get back into it.

    It's often the case that you can't save at a particular second because the game is doing something else (for example, after a dialogue is completed, the game often takes a second or so to "notice" and come out of dialogue mode). Then after a second or two, you can save.

    If your problem is not solved simply by letting the game run (unpaused) for a second or two and trying again, then maybe you've got a glitched install.
