Solo Sorc: Watcher's Keep Dead Magic Rooms *Spoilers*

Hey all!
Just finished my first watcher's keep solo. I played through the game a thousand times and always seemed to ignore it. Perhaps the evil wind emanating from it!!!
In any case I had a blast! Awesome and well thought out dungeon. Though there was one particular instance where I couldn't be bothered to solo and I brought my party in. This of course was the portal level (level 3). Anyone know how the hell you're supposed to solo 2-3 anti magic rooms that are tighly packed with insanely powerful demons?
You can't prebuff, you can't summon, you can't do much of anything. I had to rely on a crapload of luck to even do it with my party (I went in SoA so they werent insanely high levels.) I found these rooms even harder than Demogorgon and the 3 guardian mobs (that blue mage hits like a truck).
Anyone got any tips for my next playthrough? Maybe potions? Keep in mind my sorc has no fighter levels. Straight up like the whisky he pounds back at the sea's bounty.
***Unrelated Question*** Does the project image exploit work in the enhanced edition?

My guess would be, equip a powerful sling and start running a lot.
hahaha I hear ya. I had already done a playthrough with a kensai/mage (not watcher's keep though) and I wanted to try with a pure sorc. I found the pure sorc to be just as powerful if not more so in the long run, the beginning of the game was a bit more of a pain though.
But yeah you're absolutely right fighter levels help alot especially in situations like this. I had some trouble on the ravager too with a pure sorc. Pretty much had to let a throng of planetars tank him while I project image>3x lower resist>improved alacrity>4x horrid wilting. Took doing that about 4 times before he finally went down. Mellissan was cake although I had to use my ravager strat to take down that infernal fallen solar.
I think wands, potions and HLA's are the only way to go. Item abilities will work as well, though any lasting effects will be dispelled. I can think of Sunrays from CF and Helm of Brilliance. Those work well against demons. I think demons are also vulnerable against cold, so a Cone of Cold from White Dragon Armor would work..(though you actually get the scales from this very level)
Great ideas guys thanks!
I'll try the bound spells and wands next run, as well as the run around and SoE tactic. As far as ignoring them, I think one of the rooms has the heart you need to get the portal gem iirc. Its only the second DM room I had a problem with. The first doesn't have that many demons and the third is actually a random magic room that is avoidable. The second one is the tough one. Demons in that room also fear you on sight. It was a tough fight.
Yeah compact parties are great. I pretty much only do that and solo runs. I haven't played a party of 6 since my very first play through. Man that was forever ago.
Sorry about double post we kind of posted our comments at the same time.
Thanks!
Chain Contignency is most effective, and probably the only sane way of doing this part. I wouldn't attempt it with a solo Sorc without this spell.
@hispls OMFG that is hysterical. Just read up on this and I actually had no idea of this item's existence. Is it possible to get the BG1 Pantaloons in BG2 somewhere? Without keeper mind you.
