Here is a man who willingly admitted to mentoring Sarevok in his aspirations of ascending to godhood by unleashing war and anarchy upon the land, all in the vain hope of attaining notoriety and possibility a form of immortality for himself for playing his role in the rise of a god. He is far from innocent, and yet striking him down transforms you from a renowned hero of the Sword Coast to "Average"? A little extreme, no? I mean I could kinda understand if it costs you 1 or 2 points of reputation for slaying a defenseless man, but -10?!

Not that reputation even matters by this stage. It just bugs me that I suddenly end up on reputation 10, despite doing the honourable thing all game.

He is mechanically considered to be innocent at that point. But you are right he really should be considered a mage still (which would avoid the issue and mean no loss of reputation for killing him).

Your party. The good guys disapprove, and the bad guys are giddy. Either way, somebody is going to talk about it. And of course Minsc will talk about it...because he's Minsc, and he is not known for his subtlety.

That said, I'd say that killing Winski is the only responsible thing to do.
