Enhanced Edition Quests

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Is there any way to access or do the new quests in the Enhanced Edition without having each quest's respective NPC in your party?

I can reach the Wild Forest without Neera. Can I go to Dragomir's tomb without Hexxat? Can I do any of the Rassad or Dorn stuff without having them in my party?

    You still have to have them in your party when you speak to some quest-related NPC.
