Red Diamond by Quick Action bar

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Slap me with the Staff of Idiocy, +6, but I cannot determine what the new quick bar in BG:EE is. I click the red diamond, and get a bunch of empty boxes arrayed over the Quick Action bar. Did I miss something new?

    If you're standing near a pile of loot on the ground, the items in that pile will show up in that quick bar, allowing you to loot them quickly without having to click on the pile itself.

    Thanks! I know there was talk about a change in loot, but I was playing the old way (just going to each pile) because I was a n00b.

    OMG. I didn't like the new loot bar because I didn't see the point. Shows what I know. Packs of hobgoblins scattered all over the area - no problem. It even lets me pick which character grabs the loot. For me, Imoen grabs gems and jewelry, CHARNAME gets heavy items, mages get scrolls.

    Magic is impressive, but now ToolBar leads. Loot for everyone!
