Fast Shadow Thief Guild Question

I finally got around to talking with Aran L., head of the Guild. In the course of heading to his office, we had to pass over what looked like a sort of catwalk.

1) There are a bunch of old pipes visible to the south at one point. Clicking on them gives you the message that they seem to be part of some labyrinth, but there doesn't seem to be any way to climb down into it. I tried going in, out and around the various building exits but nothing led to any such area. Is there actually something down there to explore, or is this just some passing commentary thrown in for for atmospheric reasons?

2) From this same catwalk, at the very same spot, to the north, is what seems to be a door, although it is only partially visible. Again, there seems to be no way to reach it from the catwalk. Anything there?

    When you get to the basement from first floor, there is a room on top left which gives you access to thieves training rooms and to that door. I am not sure there is nothing interesting there, but I do know there are no very important items. Be careful though, there are some nasty traps in this area.

    Are you talking about the room with all those locked/trapped doors? In the Maer'Var guildhall? Did that a while back. I'm talking about the catwalk leading to Linval's HQ; click on the pipes there to see what I mean.

    Ooops, never mind; I went back and found a new door I hadn't seen before. Let me see where this leads first.

    I don't know if this will work. I found the crawl, but can't see how to get down the pipes.image

    I was reffering to the part with numbers 13 to 24. You cannot go to the pipes themselves.

    OK, I found all the other parts eventually. It looks on your snapshot like the pipes room has a floor which I cant see from the crawl, but if there's nothing there I won't obsess over it. Thanks.

    These are maps from the game files, you cannot see the map like that through in-game exploration. I may assure you there is nothing down there :)
