[Not An Issue] Game freeze and unresponsive touch screen.

Here's the sequence.
iPad 4, version 8.1
Got through most of the game up to Durag's Tower, entered Baldur's gate but did not complete any quests there.
Battery stopped recharging and iPad stopped responding (not game related).
Backed up iPad and Apple replaced it with a new one.
Updated to v8.3 on new iPad.
Restored iPad backup and continued playing BG:EE, no problems after several hours until...
Durlag's Tower final battle with Demon Knight.
After failing to win the battle a few times and reloading the quick save just prior to the battle the game freezes and the iPad touchscreen stops responding, though both external buttons respond.
I am able to hard restart the iPad (after many tries) and force close BG:EE, then the iPad functions normally.
But now every time I attempt to play the game, new or from a save, after about 5 minutes the same thing happens:
Game freezes and the touch screen becomes unresponsive.
This only occurs with BG:EE as I've used all the other programs on the iPad after restarting with no issues.
Anyone else have this problem?

Gonna take it to the local Apple store.
Worked fine before the latest update, go figure.
