Fallen Ranger(Archer)

Hallo folks,
As mentioned in the title my problem is that my Ranger fell and lost all its bonuses,i dont know if someone here played a fallen archer before but its really frustrating since you lose all youre dmg and THAC0 bonuses with missile weapons makin him as useless as it can get since i cant equip with any heavy armor and cant really use any melee weapon.Since this is my first playthough i didnt really wanted to use some kind of cheat but i am willin to do so to restore my Rangerhood.
I know you can redeem if you finish Ranger stronghold quests but i already finished them.
I also read somewhere that you get a second chance to redeem at the end of SoA and since am at chapter 6 i can wait a bit if someone can confirm that there is indeed a second chance.
