Alternative endings

It would be great to have really different story path and endings according to the choices the player makes during the game. What do you think about this?!

Naw... Sarevok dead and me alive sounds about right. :-P Actually I'm not sure what difference there could ever be since the conclusion of BG1 is a cutscene of Sarevok's undoing, not any special cutscene theme regarding reference to CHARNAME- such as NWN1 that mentions adventures ahead- or that could change depending on game choices. BG1 doesn't end like BG2 in a big choice or like many subsequent games that build ongoing storyline arc paths into the end result like DAO. BG1's replayability is entirely in your own character choice experiences, part of BG1's particular charm... and, as they say, it's the journey that's more interesting than the end. ;-)

I think BG really isn't the type of game that allows for a variety of character choice. Storywise, BG is actually pretty linear, there are things that are simply forced to happen.

Interesting but if you’re talking specifically BG1 then I’d have to agree with the other guys, probably isn’t really within the scope of the game, BG2, I guess its possible (i.e. final ToB decision, party composition and whatever else which is kind of already covered) but difficult especially if a BG3 is going to come after.
What sort of differences were you thinking?

This is achieved by playing a different game.

If I remember correctly, Fallout 2 had little epilogues for every location you had traveled to in the game. They would change based on the decisions you made during the game. Something like that would've been cool for BGEE, but probably would have been outside the scope of Overhaul's contract.

I agree in principle, but BG1 as a whole doesn't really give you much choice as a character. It's not like you can choose to take over the Iron Throne on anything. It's more just of a build up to a showdown with Sarevok because ultimately he threatens your existence.

    I would agree if there wasn't BG2.
A sequel is beyond an epilogue.
