Icewind Dale Original Version

Greetings Sagely Advisors

I was wondering if any of you know were I can find a download for Heart of Winter for the Original version of the game because I have a copy of it on disc but I don't have the expansion for it. I would greatly appreciate.

T.M.

Don't know of any place for just the HoW expansion, but you can buy the entire game from GOG.com. The download includes the Trials of the Luremaster (as an option when installing), and you get the soundtrack and other nice things you can also download.

Thx Grog new about GoG.com, I know where to get TotLM, wanted to get HoW first though. I have been scouring the sites for it. Keep an eye out.

The HoW expansion isn't free, so you have to buy it. If you cannot afford the EE, try GoG.
I don't recommend Amazon. The one i found is ridiculously expensive.

    Why not buy the EE?

I agree. It is a better value and works better on newer computers. Maybe he wants to play the original version?

Perhaps because the "feeling" and the balance are substantially different.
I have played BG1 and then BG1 with tutu and BGT. I got used to BG1 on a BG2 engine.
However I am bit reluctant to play IWD on BG2. That's what IWDEE is. I loved the original IWD too much.
Beamdog did a great job but I am waiting for a mod (unlikely to come) to unBG2ify IWDEE...

Almost all of the "bg2 feels" can be avoided by just not choosing race or class options that aren't available in the original IWD.
