    These are interesting. I keep making a game of them - I try to both understand the illusion, *and* figure out what is really going on, before the slide changes.

    Most of them are one of two things - 1) an event that normally happens in less than a second, such as a bubble popping or a quantity of water or an object moving through the air, is caught and frozen at an interesting moment during a process that cannot normally be perceived through all its phases; or, 2) two people, animals, or things are caught lined up at an angle that juxtaposes them into one thing when the brain first looks at the image.

    Fellow psychologists and students of human perception - if you haven't looked at these, you should. They are all very interesting examples of how easily our brains come to the wrong conclusions about sensory data.
