[Needs Repo] [Windows][Steam] Game Breaking Familiar Glitch!

When i summoned a Familiar with my conjurer mage, the game recognizes it as my main character, alongside my actual main character which is a paladin. So now when the familiar dies, the game forces me to reload as if my main character died! This makes an already hard game 15 times harder when such a weak creature can ruin everything! I'm only at Nashkel mines so I'm low level and not very far in the game. please help!

    Are you playing a multiplayer game? The Find Familiar spell description says that it can only be cast by the protagonist.

    Why don't you just put the familiar in you Conjurer's pack?

    Your familiar should not be dying - ever. You do know when it does your mage loses a point on CON permanently?

    Put it in your backpack for 99% of the game, it rarely needs to come out.

    Unfortunately, I need more information here.

    What kind of familiar were you using (what is your alignment?)

    What killed your familiar?

    Are you running any mods?

    Are you playing in single player or multiplayer?

    Do you have a saved game you can attach from before this happened?

    (Basically I need steps to be able to repeat the problem)

    Definitely multiplayer.

    That only means it was once a multiplayer save.
