5th Edition untranslated!?

ShapiroKeatsDarkMageShapiroKeatsDarkMage Member Posts: 2,428
i heard some time ago that Wizards of the Coast decided not to translate the manuals for D&D 5th edition for the foreign market.
I think this is a mistake, commercially speaking, especially after the bomb that was 4th edition and because i'm italian and being forced to read other languages was always kind of annoying.

That's unfortunate. I know Paizo does well publishing Pathfinder products in other languages. I'd think WotC would want to make their game more accessible to people.

WOTC needs to get their shit together.

I'm not sure if there's enough of a market for DnD abroad for it to be worth it. Particularly after their failures with 4th Ed I'd assume they would want to consolidate and focus on their core market.

Theres quite a following in Italy, Germany and some Eastern European countries. Also Brazil, courtesy of the cartoon which is very popular in Brazil. Of course D&D reputation got a bad blow with 4th edition and everybody jumping on Pathfinder.

Been there. There always some volunteers who will do translations for free.
